Baltic Pine

Baltic Pine is a European softwood, Baltic pine is known to be relatively light and is widely used in construction. Baltic Pine trees have a variety of uses and it is an ideal plantation timber. The sapwood can range in colour from white to pale yellow and the colour of the heartwood is not always easy to distinguish and is sometimes tinges with reddish/brown hues. Baltic Pine timber has a generally straight fine grain and an even texture.

Different species of timber have different hardness ratings called Janka Ratings. The higher the number, the harder the timber. This is an important thing to consider when choosing your timber flooring.
